Hide and Seek
The process of sniffing out hidden treats in the carrot engages dog's problem-solving skills, keeping their mind active and reducing stress.
My cat loves this. I love watching her “hunt” for the treats and it’s a good way to space them apart. Otherwise she inhales her treats.
I was looking for some small packets of catnip after I noticed my cat finding one hidden in the “pocket” of a toy tunnel, and playing with it again and again. These are easy to place around the room so she can be entertained for some minutes. My cat is blind, and she still finds them (if she’s in the mood!) and it takes some effort for her to totally use up & destroy an individual packet.
Really cute toy, just like the picture. Unfortunately I think I loved it more than my cat did, but nonetheless the quality seems great and the concept is nice. I do wish the base was a little heavier, when my cat was trying to get the carrots out sometimes he’d just flip the whole thing upside down because it is quite light. Also, even though I ordered the one for cats, there are squeaky balls inside the carrots which I always perceived as being more of a dog toy than for cats. However, if your cat is into it, this would be great for them as well.
my cats absolutely adore this toy! i love finding new enrichment toys for my cats because they're strictly indoors, and this was an awesome find. it's super easy to load the treats into the carrots and put them back into the carrot patch, and it's not too difficult for the cats to pull them back out to get the treats, which to me, is the most important part. the bright colors make it fun and engaging for them too! they have squeakers, but my cats don't bite them hard enough to engage the squeaks. overall, super happy with this!
"CECE PAW Carrot Catnip Toys..." I 100% agree with another review that says they feel this is a re-purposed dog toy.I have three cats. Three very different cats. One a kitten, one a senior, and one a cat with only 3 legs. The plush dirt and carrots are made very well and seem durable. The construction it great but the design in relation to cat use could be better thought out.The pockets in the carrots are deep. So if you don't place the treats within just right they end up further in and the cats cannot get them out. We basically have to put the treats right at the opening, ever so slightly tucked. The dirt is plush, soft fabric and light weight. Making the cats trying to dig out treats from the dirt holes nothing but frustrating for all my cats. The holes are not wide enough for their face to go into and while a paw can go in, claws get stuck in the plush trying to pull the treat out and drop back down or flip the whole thing over on top of them.I get our kitten to run after the carrots if I throw them across the house (not with a treat inside), I keep in mind he is a kitten and runs after anything that moves.Let's talk catnip. The provided catnip packets are kind of hard to fold and cram into the carrots and overall not potent enough to have ANY of my catnip adoring cats interested. I have other catnip that I will just tuck into the holes.I don't hate it, my cats don't hate it. But not a favorite and would not get again for cats.
